A layer cake is a set of forty 10 inch squares produced by Moda fabrics. They contain one of each of the prints from the range (they may contain some duplicates to make it up to 40 pieces). A standard layer cake has 2.5m of fabric.
Layer cakes are a great way of economically buying and entire range of fabric the 10 inch squares are a versatile size suited to a range of patchwork blocks.
